Holley Carburetor
Your vehicle carburetor is that device that blends the air and the fuel for an internal combustion engine. Actually, the carburetor is a fuel delivery device that has been being overshadowed by the fuel injection in recent years. Most carbureted engines, as opposed to fuel injected ones, have a single carburetor, though some may use multiple ones. Older engines used updraft carburetors, where the air enters from below the carburetor and exits through the top. Because of this design, it has an advantage of not flooding the engine, as any liquid fuel droplets would fall out of the carburetor instead of falling into the intake manifold; it also lent itself to use of an oil bath air cleaner, where a pool of oil below a mesh, and this was an effective tool, way before the advent of air filters. The primary function of your Holley carburetor is to mix the right amount of gasoline with air so that your vehicle engine will run properly. If there is not enough fuel mixed with the air, the engine runs lean and either will not run or potentially damages your engine. If there is too much fuel mixed with the air, the engine runs rich and either will not run because of flooding, runs very smoky, and runs poorly or at the very least, waste that precious fuel. The carburetor takes charge of getting the mixture right. The Holley carburetors are specially calibrated for every make and model, so that it can come up with the right mixture of air and fuel. The brand has carburetor for every engine sizes of every make and model, that is why it is still important to check with your dealer if what type carburetor is perfect for your engine, be it a large displacement engine or a small displacement engine.
