	Ford Racing Brake Proportioning Valve Proportioning valves are used in the disc brake system. These valves provide correct pressure for the front discs and the rear drums. But why do you need to install the Ford Racing Brake Proportioning Valve? A big brake upgrade can give your front brakes more leverage so that when you hit the brake pedal, the front brakes will lock up much earlier than the brakes in the rear. The anti-skid system will help mask this problem by pulsing the front brakes until you apply enough pressure to cause the rear brakes to lock up and hit ABS. However, this is not the most favorable solution, so it is better to keep the spacing in between when the front brakes lock up and when the rear brakes lock to a minimum. With the Ford Racing Brake Proportional Valve, you can actually reduce the brake pressure going to the front brakes so that they lock up just before the rear. To do this, you just have to insert the valve into the front brake line and then dial down the pressure.
