DC Manifold
As we all know, the engine is the heart of the car and it is one of the most critical component of every vehicle. This is where the much needed fuel and air mixture is generated to be supplied to the various systems and mechanisms of the car. The intake manifold is one of the passage systems of the engine. It is made up of pipes and tubes from which the fuel-air mixture passes through the fuel injector or carburetor into the intake valves of the cylinder.
It also collects the exhaust gases from multiple cylinders into one pipe. Intake manifold like the DC manifold is a highly efficient manifold. It helps boost the performance and driving of your car. There are several types of manifolds but it is dependent on the specifications and features required by your car.
You have to check your manual first to make sure before planning to buy a manifold. In this way, you would be sure on what type of manifold is suited for your driving machine. Commonly used manifolds are tunnel ram, cross ram, isolated runner, open plenum, single plane with partial divider plate and divided single plate. Manifolds that are made from aluminum can become extremely hot if it is positioned on top of the exhaust header. Nevertheless, there is a way to protect the manifold from the extreme heat. A heat shield can be used to protect the aluminum manifold from the heat of the header. Too much heat can damage the manifold system and the painted plastic components of the car. Meanwhile, another manifold which is the exhaust manifold, are generally made from simple cast iron units which collect engine exhaust and deliver it to the exhaust pipe. When greater performance is needed, this restrictive tube is often replaced with individual headers which are tuned for low restriction and improved performance.
