Bosch Performance Parts Bosch Oxygen Sensor

A component that forms part of your vehicle’s emission control system is the oxygen sensor. It is the one responsible for feeding data into your vehicle’s engine management computer. It specifically works by checking on the exhaust hundreds of time per minute. This oxygen sensor also helps maintain your vehicle’s optimum engine performance and efficiency plus lower your vehicle’s smoke emissions.

Bosch has introduced their oxygen sensor or O2 sensor that works to check your vehicle’s exhaust stream to be able to determine if your fuel/air mixture is rich or lean. It is specifically calibrated to work perfectly with your vehicle. This oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust pipe and it contains a mechanism, which produces a chemical reaction that generates voltage. Since knowing the amount of voltage present in your vehicle is then very critical to determine whether the mixture is rich or lean, your engine’s computer makes the necessary adjustment onto the volume of fuel going to your engine.

Your vehicle’s engine relies significantly on its oxygen sensor as the amount of oxygen it is able to pull depends on the various factors such as engine temperature, engine load, altitude, air temperature, barometric pressure and many others. Be sure that you do not have a malfunctioning Bosch oxygen sensor for your vehicle because it only prevents your engine computer from reading the correct air and fuel ratio. If such thing happens, you vehicle will then perform poorly and ends up wasting more of your vehicle’s fuel. A proper functioning oxygen sensor is very important most especially when it comes to your vehicle’s fuel economy and reducing harmful exhaust emissions. That is why checking and replacing your vehicle’s worn out oxygen sensor with the Bosch oxygen sensor is a very essential part of your vehicle’s routine tune up. This way you will be able to help the environment around you plus saves you a lot of money in gasoline cost over the life of your new Bosch oxygen sensor.
