ATS Fender Flares
ATS Fender Flares refer to the decorative structural extensions of the fenders. However, ATS Fender Flares should not be confused with fender trims. Generally speaking fender trims are smaller than fender flares. Furthermore, fender trims are typically chrome-plated. By comparison, fender flares have variety of color motifs and designs. Fender flares are commonly molded from polyvinyl chloride plastics. However, there are also fender flares that are constructed from different materials such as fiberglass or metal. Fender flares trace the arches and general contour of the fenders. Hence, they may take different forms, depending on the general design of the fenders. A fender flare may either be angular or circular in shape. They serve as the aesthetic extension of the fenders. In so doing, they enhance the arches of the fenders. Fender flares also accentuate the other decorative accessories of the vehicle such as the grille. The subtle glossy finish of most fender flares complements the dark glossy finish of the automobile body panels. Most fender flares can be painted upon. Hence, they are highly customizable. Fender flares are also very easy to replace. Replacing a fender flare generally does not require special tools or skills. Fender flares can be bought with built-in mounting hardware that would allow them to be conveniently snapped onto the fenders of the vehicle. Visually speaking, fender flares appear to be the physical extension of the fender. However, unlike the fenders, the fender flares primarily functions as decorative components. They do not have significant role when it comes to shielding the under chassis of the vehicle against any projectiles that might be hurled by the rotating wheels. Fender flares may be disregarded in automobiles without affecting the performance or functionality of the fenders. However, when it comes to automobiles functionality is not all the thing that matters.
